Made by the same company, the Supurb Cube Silicon Ice Cube Tray – 2 inches, have the pretty much the same features as the 1.4 inch tray from the last ice cube tray review. I like the rigid edge of the tray and pushing the cubes out from the bottom is oddly entertaining.
As you can see from the “action” picture, this tray makes HUGE ice cubes. The packaging says that it’s a 2 inch cube and I believe that. One of these would be more than enough in any old fashioned glass.
It only makes 4 at a time, but pleasantly surprised that it took about the normal time to freeze solid. I thought with the increase in the volume of water, it would have taken much longer. The cubes didn’t come out as clear as the smaller ones, but still look really cool in a glass. These would also be great if you had a large water jug, drink dispenser, or even a punch bowl. (Does anyone, besides Martha Stewart, use punch bowls anymore? I think we should, but that’s a different post.)
