For almost a year, I have been taking biotin to strengthen my nails with the added benefit of better hair and skin. And it seems that only a dose of 10,000mg of the stuff will show any signs of improvement for my nails. My nails are pretty thin and break or split easily. Add it the cold weather and I’m surprised that I have any nail longer than the nubs I needed to maintain while doing bodywork.
The 1 Body’s Hair, Skin & Nails formula of biotin isn’t bad. I had no side effects or have trouble with the pills, but they were just too weak of a dosage for me. Each capsule is only 25,000mg. That means that I have to take 4 capsules to see any results. Granted I don’t take many other pills, but why should I take four when I can only take one small gel-cap instead? Smaller pills are a bigger motivator to me.
