Today I found one of the best 100 calorie snacks. Almonds are probably one of the healthiest nuts but Emerald Nuts found a way to make it even better. They lightly coated it in coco powder and sweetened it. I love that the bags are small enough to keep in my purse without taking up all the space so I can always have a healthy snack on hand and not giving me an option of finding a less healthy snack.
I found these at my local grocery store and it does come in a larger container but honestly, if I got the larger container, I’d eat the entire container.
I’m really tired today but just had to post this funny video.
The back story on this is that Craig is a HUGE Dr Who fan and had the 11th Doctor on his show. They had this great song and dance put together but right before air time, they were told they couldn’t preform it because they didn’t have the clearance to play the theme song. I knew it would get “leaked” onto the internet eventually and here’s the video! Enjoy!!!
I was looking for Weird Al’s “Yoda” but this will have to do.
Over at Dollar Store Crafts, Heather posted great directions on how to make a Yoda hat! What wouldn’t be better for your favorite Star Wars fan (young or old) but a Yoda hat. I might just have to make this for my brand new niece to make sure that she is brought up with the “right” kind of education. We must make sure she is educated in the important things, Star Wars, Star Trek, StarGate SG-1 (catching on here) and Buckaroo Banzi.
Heather give directions on how to make an adult hat but with only a few measurements and scaling down, a child or infant’s hat could be made.
My kids love it when I get funky with their food. They are huge fans when I make “squidapusses” (hot dog cut to look like a octopus) and when I saw this over at Plum Pudding, I’m sure I’ll be making this over the weekend.
Sure it looks funny but that’s half the idea!
Like making “squidapusses” the creativity occurs before the hot dog is cooked.
With Easter right around the corner and now that the birthdays are over (for now), I thought it would be good to post a quick and easy crafts for Easter. I found two great ones over at Can’t Stop Making Things.
First one up is “Bunny Tails“ My kiddies love marshmallows and this is a cute one. If you are having many little folk over for Easter, this would be a cute one to put at their place settings. Chances are they will not last though the meal but its still very cute. Even the kids can help make these up.
Now, the next one is also cute and easy for the kiddies to also help make up. Re-labeling a box of tick tac’s as Easter Egg Seeds would be great if there are some older kiddies attending or for the kids to make for the adults. This would even make a cute little teacher’s gift. If you felt really crafty and had some of those food safe markers, you could even decorate them a bit to make them a bit more colorful or mix in some other flavors.
Not everyone has a roomba but my wonderful parents gifted me with one a bit ago. The idea was to motivate the kiddies to clean their rooms so the robot thingy could vacuum but once the initial “cool” factor disappeared the roomba’s appeal diminished. Now I might have just found a way to make the roomba cool again!
Mamaqila.com has a fantastic wool felted roomba cozy that is the best I’ve ever seen!
They even have a video at Mamaqila.com that shows it in motion.
Is that just the most brilliant thing ever? The kids loved it and asked if I could make one right away. I wish I knew how to felt wool to do this but alas, there is only so many hours in the day. A case of too many crafts and too little time. Maybe someday I’ll learn how to felt but for now I’m still trying to learn how to crochet and do tatting.
I wish was more information about the artist on the site behind this creation so I could give them the due credit but this is really a great creation.
My mom saw this site featured on this morning’s Today Show.
Basically, its a site that is all videos of cute things falling asleep. My three year old thought it was histeryical and tried to wake up the puppies and kitties that he saw.
Some of the videos are very basic and taken on cell phones but others have some graphics and music.
If you need a quick smile and a warm fuzzy this is the site to go to.
Forget New York and their Waterford Crystal Ball for ringing in the New Year. I’ve found something better!
Bethlehem, PA lowers a giant Peep to start the New Year! I just adore Peeps of any shape but there is something about the classic Peep shape that is so cool. (And I love it when a box magically appears on my desk at work too. Thanks Dad!) Making it out there next year might just be in my plans.
This site is supposed to be about “good” stuff so don’t let the name of this site throw you off. Fail Blog has some of the funniest “oopses” I have seen, both in video and photos.
It is updated several times a day and I get an update emailed to me every morning, when I’m usually in need of a good laugh to get me going. On thieir site there are filters to keep things G-Rated (or safe for work) or just videos.
