Big Announcement at the end of this post!!
Saturday, Second Chances: A New Star was published on Amazon. I originally wrote the story when my daughter was “Amy”‘s age – somewhere around a year old. She is now 13. Yes, Second Chances: A New Star is that old. But it is still a great story. I am so happy now that is is out there but I worry about reviews and errors. After publishing Fire and Ice, I learned A LOT and took those lessons I learned to heart. Is Second Chances: A New Star perfect, no. I could read it today and still be tweeking it. I’ve lost count of the versions I have on my computer from all the revisions I’ve done over the year.
Did my heart still flutter in the right places? Yes, it did. Friday, I sat down and read the entire thing (making minor edits along the way) but really allowed myself to enjoy it. It had been a long time since I had read it from “cover to cover” and I’m glad I did. In a way, it felt very intimate. Just time with me and these characters that are older than my youngest child. They have become a huge part of me and I am lucky that they have led me to many more idea for the future within the Second Chances Universe.
But here’s my problem. What should I work on next? Should I work on Fire and Ice 2, or should I work on Second Chances 2 (no working titles for either quiet yet), or do I work on something new that has been teasing the heck out of me while I was editing and editing. I at least got the rough notes down so this new idea should not slip away from me.
So, what’s this big announcement that I teased you with at the beginning of this little update? Starting today (Jan 20th) until January 24th, Fire and Ice is now FREE to download on Kindle. More promo stuff will be coming down the line so pay attention to what is coming in the next few days and weeks! A few have asked and yes, there will be a hard copy of Second Chances: A New Star coming but it’s going to be a bit before that is ready.
