Super Easy Fortune Cookie Find

Jan 2nd, 2009 Posted in baking, cookies | no comment »

I found this last night looking for something easy to do with the kiddies. I love fortune cookies and would love to make them some day but they seem a bit complicated. This is an easy and cute Fortune Cookie Treat that can be made with kids of all reason. The quick cheat is to use puff pastry for the cookie dough, but there is detailed directions in only seven step on how to whip up a batch of these without having to deal with hot cookies to get that shape we are all accustomed to.

This will be so much fun to do as soon as I get my hands on some puff pastry the next time I’m at the grocery store.

The Best New Year’s Eve Ever

Jan 2nd, 2009 Posted in funny, holiday | no comment »

Forget New York and their Waterford Crystal Ball for ringing in the New Year.  I’ve found something better!

Bethlehem, PA lowers a giant Peep to start the New Year!  I just adore Peeps of any shape but there is something about the classic Peep shape that is so cool.  (And I love it when a box magically appears on my desk at work too.  Thanks Dad!)  Making it out there next year might just be in my plans.

Read here to find out more.

Nifty Wine Bottle Wrapping

Jan 2nd, 2009 Posted in crafting, gift | no comment »

How do you bring a bottle of wine to a party when you don’t have one of those handy gift bags?  If you have a few sheets of tissue paper laying around then Martha Stewart and her talented team have the soloution.

It’s two whole steps and takes less time than it does to wrap a shirt box.  After wrapping the bottle up and making the cute pompom on top, you can decorate it with stickers or stamps if you have plain paper or choose some really pretty tissue as the outer layer.
